About the Project

We have this city; we love this city. In 2015, Community First Solutions collaborated with the City of Hamilton to develop the original We Are Hamilton video. The response to the video far exceeded our expectations – to date, more than 65,000 people have viewed the video. The video has been shown by local businesses to attract employees, Hamilton High and Badin High schools have shown the video at their stadiums prior to football games, and one couple even used the video as part of their wedding invitations for out of town guests.

Due to the incredible impact the first video had in helping raise awareness of the amazing things happening throughout the city, the We Are Hamilton team created a second phase of the project in 2016. The first video was intended to raise awareness of the revitalization efforts, the goal of the second video is to encourage resident to get engaged by highlighting the unique ways individuals are propelling positive change in Hamilton. We asked community members to nominate individuals who are making a difference, and were thrilled to receive more than 100 nominations. We are excited to highlight the personal stories of our community champions and we hope to inspire others to play an active role in our city.

We will continue to update this website to celebrate the unique ways our friends and neighbors are contributing to the landscape of our community.

Are you interested in contributing to the We Are Hamilton initiative? Any amount of support will help with the ongoing development of the project and future videos. The We Are Hamilton initiative has established a fund through the Hamilton Community Foundation. Tax deductible donations may be made on the Hamilton Community Foundation website by entering “We Are Hamilton” in the fund name field, or by sending payment to the We Are Hamilton Fund, Hamilton Community Foundation, 219 N Third Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. We truly appreciate all donations.

BEHIND THE PROJECT

Each aspect of the We Are Hamilton initiative is driven by local individuals, businesses, organizations, talent, and ideas.

The concept and coordination of the project is led by a team of friends who are excited about sharing the amazing stories in our community. This team is comprised of City of Hamilton staff including Liz Hayden, Jordan Schotz, and Jacob Stone and Community First Solutions staff including Danielle Webb and Billie Guenther.

This team is dedicated to working with other Hamiltonians. Hamilton resident Mike Wolfram, owner of Foster and Flux has filmed & produced both videos. Richard O. Jones is the Hamiltonian who authored the narrative scripts in both the original and the second We Are Hamilton videos. Former Community First Solutions Employee, Emily Glaser, is the voice behind the stories narrative.
