Joe and Sarah Marcum are both lifelong Hamiltonians. They met in the eighth grade at the former Adams Elementary School in Hamilton. Joe and Sarah have five children, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to their home here in Hamilton, they own homes in Florida and Michigan, but they always refer to Hamilton as home. Joe and Sarah have been profoundly involved in the community, including a recent $3.5 million gift to the City of Hamilton for the development of Marcum Park.
Joe spent his career working with Ohio Casualty. He began working for the company as an underwriting trainee, and worked his way up to the role of President and CEO. Joe was a founding member of the Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton and has served on numerous boards including: the Hamilton Community Foundation, Fort Hamilton Hospital, the Fitton Center for Creative Arts, and TVHamilton.

QWhat is your favorite thing about Hamilton?
AHamilton is our hometown. It was a great place to grow up and then to raise our family.

AWe enjoy helping and making a positive difference in our city.
QHow do you hope Marcum Park will impact the city?
AWe hope that the park will be enjoyed by Hamiltonians. We wanted to create a family-friendly space in the city. The location ties in nicely with RiversEdge and the park is easily accessible for the community.

AWe see Hamilton progressing into the future. The community will continue to collaborate to improve our city. We anticipate more technology-based businesses locating in Hamilton, and that the city will continue to modernize.
